AXIS Privacy Policy

AXIS collects the least it can, never sells your data, and never tracks you across other apps or the web. This policy describes what actually leaves your device, based on what the app and its backend really do.

Your written content is stored, not just processed
When you use an AI feature, the text you wrote and the prompt built from it are sent to our backend, passed to a third-party language-model provider to produce a result, and stored in our database against your account identifier. We keep it so plans can reference your history and so we can investigate bad output.
This means the content of your goals, reflections and journal entries is retained by us, not only by the model provider. Deleting your account deletes it.
Health data
If you grant permission, AXIS reads sleep analysis from Apple Health and step count from Core Motion. The raw Health records stay on your device. The sleep-debt figure derived from them is sent to our backend and stored with your account, because the planner needs it to schedule your day.
Health data is never used for advertising and never shared with anyone outside the providers listed below. Revoke access anytime in the Health app or iOS Settings.
Voice input
Where AXIS lets you speak instead of type, transcription uses Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process that audio on its servers. AXIS never receives or stores the audio itself, only the resulting text, which is then treated like anything else you write.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use your health data for advertising.
- We do not show third-party ads in AXIS.
Third parties who process data for us
Apple (in-app purchases, Health, speech recognition), Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting of our backend), Anthropic (the language model behind AI features), RevenueCat (subscription management) and Sentry (crash reporting). Each processes only the data described above, on our behalf.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account data, including stored AI inputs and outputs, while your account exists. Deleting your account deletes that data permanently. Request deletion in the app or by email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under GDPR in the EU and UK and the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data and to object to certain processing. Email us to exercise any of them. We do not sell data, so there is nothing to opt out of there.
Children
AXIS is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age where you live, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
